Fall semester 2022-2023 reflection

I have improved so much, I’m very proud of myself. I've gone from being unable to paint faces, to being able to make detailed pieces. I love the amount of time there is to create new things and make new ideas. I’d describe my artwork overall as more detailed and more thought, even though I usually like the first idea I have. I have used mostly acrylic and I'd like to try oil once next semester. I have also mostly done 3-d and want to do some 2-d things next semester. I have been working on painting people. I describe my style as my own, I've worked on that for a few years, but I also like adding realism in. The mood is usually light but I like showing emotions like; mad, sad, happy, confused. I have focused a lot on color. I love my current style. I usually use pinterest to research photos, but I used videos for my house sculpture. Pinterest usually helps me build on my ideas for projects. I also do sketching, mostly in ibis paint. My house sculpture needed the most research. For the house sculpture I needed to know how to do things like the roof. I have learned how to blend better and get smaller details and more details. Like I said I have gotten better with face/ skin tones and proportions. My strength is being able to go between 2d and 3d. I could’ve asked more questions. I like making sure things are in proportions. For my first project the background didn’t fit well to let her be the main focus. I like when Ms. Compton and Ms. Franklin walk around the room, it's easier to ask questions. My goals are to start ahead on my senior mastory and get ahead on my comic outside of school. Another goal is to do more sculpture, it's hard with so many ideas. I also want to continue with more color theory. I might take more time with architecture, instead of people, till my next last project of the semester. I want to make another self portrait for that. To show my growth. Also to work in oil once. I already know I want to get into coastal after college, with that I want to get some scholarships and do well on the ACT, SAT. I have already started posting some sketches of my comic, but after the final I’m going to post the final products. I also am planning to start a business selling prints, paintings, having a place for people to purchase to see my comic ahead of time, and I also plan to write a few or many books. I’d like to go to college for graphic design or something that will give me some freedom in my art career. In my adult life I’d like to be happy and comfortable which comes with stability. I imagine art being a big part of the rest of my life. Which is why I love being in this program so much.
